Weeks 13 and 14 in Mommy's Belly

I know it's been a while since I've written, but it's that time of year where it's hard to get Mommy or Daddy to sit down long enough to dictate my journey. I've been waiting to tell you all about what's happened in the last few weeks. Mom freaking out yet again. Daddy being silly at Christmas. All the food I enjoyed. So much to say!

Well I've grown quite a bit. As I'm dictating this, I am about as long a lemon. I know that's not very big. And, considering how much I move around, I think Mommy is finally feeling me. It's subtle but I think I'm making quite an impact! Well Mommy's New Year's resolution will be to keep me as happy as she can for the remainder of my stay in her belly. She doesn't want to make me upset by eating anymore spicy foods and things like that. I honestly don't mind the spicy stuff, she does. I think it makes her heart burn or something like that.

Anyway, it's been a very busy month. Mom started off Week 13 with a genetic counseling session and a integrated screen. The former is just a her sitting down with a genetic counselor and telling her all about the two sides of my family. Like what heritage everyone is and what ailments they have or hair color, eye color...that sort of stuff. It was very informative. And an integrated screen is where they look at me in Mommy's belly for a long time and take pictures of me to make sure everything is ok. They said I'm fine. Which Mommy was relieved about. In the beginning she was worried because I wasn't moving. Can't a baby ever sleep! I guess not while Mom is looking. So I figured I'd ease her worries by showing off a bit. I kicked so much that I got hiccups. That made Mom laugh quite a bit.

Now Week 14 was Christmas! It wasn't too exciting for me since the only gift I got was from great Grandma D (that's Pa's mom), but that's because Mommy's family has a superstition about buying for me before I've grown to 4 or 5 months. I hope it's 4 because I can't wait to get presents! And I know a secret...Mom has opened a few baby registries in my name. She's got some good stuff on Target.com but it was slim pickens on BabiesRUs.com. I think she's got her eyes set on BabyDepot.com next. She's on the sites updated the registries all the time now that I'm getting closer to 5 months. She hasn't even planned a baby shower yet, but I can't wait to wear and play with it all!
